By joining the team as an Auto Damage Claims Consultant, you’ll serve as a technical expert and trusted partner across the Auto Line of Business. You’ll lead training initiatives, guide complex litigation and appraisal strategies, and collaborate with underwriting, actuarial, and other key stakeholders to improve outcomes, efficiency, and customer experience. Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of Personal lines and Commercial lines Property claims handling experience in the Insurance industry
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience
  • Technical and business management acumen; advanced claims investigations and resolution skills; advanced knowledge of insurance and claims handling principles, practices and procedures
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to influence, guide, and collaborate with others
  • Knowledge of claims, loss control and underwriting disciplines
  • Experience in claims technical training and development
  • Experience in maintaining Auto Line of Business legal and statutory claims compliance required in all states Central writes in
  • Experience using Power BI and Microsoft Office
  • Experience understanding trending data

Responsibilities

  • Leads training initiatives for AMD Core and is the Auto coverage subject matter expert
  • Develops, implements, executes and follows-up on adjusting tools to improve outcomes. Tracking and report-out on tools in place.
  • Monitors, reviews and directs Auto claims in litigation or appraisal files. Directs file handlers on selection of counsel or appraiser. Directs file handler on litigation and appraisal activity as outlined in Litigation Best Practice Guide. Ensures proper litigation and appraisal outcomes. Maintains, reviews and updates best in class counsel and appraisers.
  • Initiates and participates in feedback loops, collaboration sessions, roundtables with internal stakeholders to include UW, LC, Actuarial, Risk and other Claim LOB.
  • Develops and executes on needed training sessions as identified in annual planning session. Develops of formal and informal training sessions as needs arise relative to coverage, compliance, litigation and appraisal.
  • Conducts training on new coverage and form introduction.
  • Exercises appropriate consideration on use of suppliers with proper management of expenses and product quality. Suppliers used are approved and authority on use obtained as required. Collaborates with Supplier Management and Litigation Manager on Provider List of experts and panel counsel to keep it current and accurate. Reviews files on supplier compliance to Best Practice Guide and SLA's
  • Completes timely and accurate FCR and CWM responsibilities relative to coverage, form development and collaboration with other business units as required.
  • Serves as a technical expert in coverage evaluation, tool usage and Best Practices. Reviews files to audit technical coverage evaluation of file handlers. Provide proactive internal stakeholder customer service by appropriately setting expectations, building rapport, and responding to requests timely through appropriate multiple communication channels.
  • Collaborates with VP of Claims, Supplier Management, the Claims Process team, and Claims Leadership team to improve hospitality, outcomes, and efficiencies
  • Executes on continuous deep dives on AMD NPS data – identify improvements, trends, and feedback for specific handlers. Also analyze response rates.
  • Owns change management, collaboration, appropriate communication/status updates and timeliness
  • Maintains involvement in Claims strategic initiatives and transformation efforts
  • Identifies ways to help auto improve disposition rate, cycle time, closing ratio, reopen rate
  • Minimizes bad faith exposure. Value-add activity of defense counsel and appraisers. Proactive activity of defense counsel and appraisers following to developed and documented litigation and appraisal action plans, budgets and reports.
  • Executes special projects and initiative management as assigned to align with Auto Line of Business strategy and Transformation
  • Complies with privacy policy/requirements.
  • Ensure appropriate state adjuster licensing across the Auto LOB, both with states where we actively write policies and across all states.
  • Comply with State Requirements, licenses maintained and CE's obtained timely and relative to job function with minimal expense requirement.
