About The Position
The role involves inspecting damaged vehicles and preparing itemized damage appraisals that outline the cost of parts, materials, and labor necessary to restore vehicles to their pre-damage condition. The position also requires determining if damages are sufficient to declare the vehicle a total loss. This role is crucial in communicating with vehicle owners to promptly schedule physical inspections of damaged vehicles and completing those inspections when necessary. The individual will evaluate damages and prepare written estimates in accordance with applicable policy coverage. Additionally, the role includes auditing and reviewing body shop and independent appraiser estimates, supplements, and subrogation documentation relative to claims guidelines and procedures. The position requires effective communication of all information obtained to involved parties, negotiating and settling claims within prescribed authority, and maintaining professional working relationships with body shops, vendors, and internal customers.
