About The Position
This role utilizes analytical skills to create a comprehensive estimate of damages for 1st and 3rd party material damage claims leading to the proper disposition. National General Insurance is seeking a Field Auto Claims Estimator to support our South Carolina and Georgia region. Join our high-performing auto claims team where your estimating expertise, customer focus, and sound judgment shape every outcome. The ideal candidate already holds a South Carolina appraiser license, resides in one of the following counties (Barnwell, Allendale, Orangeburg, Colleton, or Beaufort), and can travel between South Carolina and Georgia to support our customers.

Responsibilities
- Applies thorough understanding of regulatory compliance and fair claims practices
- Builds established relationships with both internal and external customers
- Exhibits proficient estimating fundamentals in order to create estimates of damages on 1st and 3rd party material damage losses
- Processes a deep understanding of the content of all policy types written by the company
- Negotiates settlements, makes settlement payments and documents all activities in the file within escalated authority limits
