About The Position

The Auto Body Technician is responsible for providing exceptional customer service through the careful assessment and quality repair of vehicles, restoring them to pre-accident condition. This role involves disassembling, repairing, and reassembling vehicles while ensuring alignment with the company's standards for speed, quality, and customer excellence. The technician collaborates with team members to meet repair facility KPIs and serves as a Brand Ambassador for The Boyd Group.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Successful completion of technical school program OR a 3-year apprenticeship as an auto body repairer.
  • Ability to read job orders and work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to collaborate with other repairers in an auto body shop.
  • Thorough understanding of methods and procedures for repairing vehicle bodies.
  • Thorough understanding of tools required for the trade.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure consistent execution of WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan.
  • Plan the necessary repair work and prepare cost estimates for customers.
  • Use various tools such as cutting guns, plasma cutters, hydraulic jacks, hammers, and pliers to repair vehicle sections.
  • Hammer out dents, dimples, and other minor body damage; mix and apply filler resins when necessary.
  • Realign car chassis and frames to repair structural damage.
  • Remove damaged sections of vehicles and replace them with new or aftermarket parts.
  • Replace or repair glass and windshields as needed.
  • Replace or repair interior parts as needed.
  • Weld and fit parts into place; prepare and repaint vehicles with factory-specified paint or equivalent.
  • Complete work orders within labor time guidelines and inspect vehicles post-repair.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
