About The Position

Kniesel's Collision Carmichael is seeking an experienced journeyman Auto Body Technicians to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing high-quality collision repairs on various vehicles, restoring them to pre-accident condition per OEM standards and company guidelines. Your expertise in bodywork, frame repair, and refinishing will be vital in delivering the exceptional service Kniesel’s Collision is known for. Requirements

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a journeyman body technician in a collision repair environment.
  • Proficiency in using industry-standard tools and equipment, including welders, frame machines, and hand tools.
  • Strong knowledge of repair techniques, bodywork, and alignment methods.
  • Ability to read and follow repair plans, damage reports, and manufacturer specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality repairs.
  • A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Physical ability to stand, bend, and work in various positions for extended periods, and lift up to 50 lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • I-CAR certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Complete disassembly and vehicle assessment to assist account managers in determining damage and preparing an accurate repair plan.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with Account Managers and Parts Associates to obtain necessary parts.
  • Plan work procedures and follow work orders for all listed operations.
  • Closely follow Kniesel’s QC SOP to ensure the highest standard of quality.
  • Ensure all needed repairs are identified to eliminate supplements and minimize repair time.
  • Remove necessary parts, equipment, and materials to gain access for vehicle repair.
  • Store parts properly to prevent further damage and loss.
  • Repair or replace defective parts.
  • Files, grinds, and sands repaired surfaces using power and hand tools.
  • Inspect and test drive repaired vehicles to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Comply with Kniesel’s Collision Core Values, guidelines, and standards.
  • Understand and follow federal, state, and local regulations that affect the collision center’s operations, such as hazardous waste disposal and OSHA guidelines.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned, including cleaning the shop, assisting other teammates, and providing leadership to body tech apprentices.
