The Autism Teacher Day Program at The New England Center for Children is designed for compassionate professionals eager to grow in the field of special education. This role involves providing direct care and ABA instruction to students with autism in a classroom setting. Teachers will assist with educational program design, Individualized Educational Plan (IEP) development, and maintain regular communication with parents and guardians. The position emphasizes improving students' quality of life by reducing problematic behaviors and promoting independence. The schedule is Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, with no weekends or holidays required, and includes paid vacations throughout the year.

  • Provide direct care and ABA instruction to students in a classroom setting.
  • Assist with educational program design and IEP development.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians.
  • De-escalate challenging behaviors and ensure student well-being.
  • Work to improve students' overall quality of life.
  • Bachelor's degree or currently enrolled in a degree program (preferred).
  • Experience working with children and young adults with autism is highly desired.
  • Valid Driver's License with reliable transportation.
  • Willingness to help students who engage in challenging behaviors.
  • Ability to communicate and provide verbal instruction clearly.
  • CPR training completion through NECC within 6 months of employment.
  • Successful completion of NECC training - Physical and Verbal De-escalation training (CALM) and Medication Administration training.
