About The Position

The Autism Society of North Carolina is hiring a Part-Time Direct Support Professional (DSP) in the New Bern/Trenton area. As a DSP and caregiver, you'll provide direct care and support to individuals with autism, helping them achieve personal goals and enhance their lives. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license and registration (for services requiring transportation)
  • 18 years or older
  • Criminal background check
  • Driving record check

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the safety and well-being of the individual
  • Provide support, supervision, and instruction in home, community, and/or program settings
  • Implement goal-driven activities that are identified on the person's care plan
  • Provide support and opportunities to learn and practice meaningful skills
  • Provide support and opportunities to engage socially and build relationships
  • Complete daily notes that summarize the person's efforts and progress toward their goals
