About The Position
The Autism Aide provides educational and developmental support to children with autism in a classroom setting. The Autism Aide assists the treatment team by helping clients learn skills and behaviors to be successful in their home and community environments. Responsibilities include assisting clients with participation in the classroom, skills groups, and educational support as assigned, providing academic structure through the application of behavioral techniques and procedures, de-escalating clients when necessary, supporting client health by assisting with hygiene responsibilities, and following agency documentation policies for all phases of treatment. The role also involves participating in ongoing professional development activities to meet licensure, certification, and/or other agency requirements.
