Under the supervision of the Authorization Manager, the PACE Southeast Michigan (PACE SEMI) Receptionist responds to telephone inquiries from Hospitals, Providers and other internal and external customers. The Receptionist forwards calls to the appropriate areas or individuals for follow up. The role involves handling all incoming telephone activity, managing call volume, recording messages, tracking discharge requests and similar communication, and escalating issues to avoid delays in participant transitions of care, service delivery, or other critical needs. The receptionist also obtains relevant information using the Electronic Medical Record, CarePort, and other systems as applicable, and assists the Authorization Administrative Assistant where needed.
