About The Position

The Senior Project Manager at Auraria Higher Education Center is responsible for overseeing construction management services for the Auraria Campus and its partner institutions. This role involves managing all phases of medium to large-scale projects, including planning, design, and construction, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to quality standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, architecture, engineering, or related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Five or more years of complex construction project management experience involving construction costs in excess of $1,000,000.

  • Experience working in a state or local government agency.
  • Proficient in project management software such as TMA, Microsoft Project, or ProCore.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all phases of medium to large-sized construction projects, including planning, design, and construction.
  • Lead the development and management of project budgets consistent with timeline requirements.
  • Develop and establish scopes of work consistent with operational needs and budget allowances.
  • Oversee procurement, contracts, change documents, negotiations, and consultant relationships.
  • Conduct on-site inspections of construction progress and make technical decisions to ensure conformance with specifications.
  • Monitor and adjust project schedules to ensure timely completion within budget allocations.
  • Communicate project milestones, status, and successes with the project team and campus constituents.
  • Coordinate with Deferred Maintenance program manager to establish realistic budgets for projects.
  • Assist with selection of A&E firms, contractors, and material vendors for construction projects.
  • Complete administrative paperwork associated with projects and approve payments for contractors.
