About The Position

The Auditor is responsible for assessing agency internal controls, operational workflows, and compliance with industry regulations and company standards. This role plays a key part in ensuring title operations, escrow processes, and underwriting practices adhere to legal requirements and internal risk‑management guidelines.

Requirements

  • Adherence to company policies, procedures, regulatory requirements, and completion of all mandatory compliance training by designated deadlines.
  • Demonstrated dependability and reliability, including consistent and punctual attendance. This may include in-office work and participation in company or industry events outside standard business hours.
  • Ability to accept direction, apply feedback constructively, and work collaboratively within a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive audits of agency title and escrow operations, including file reviews, disbursement procedures, and underwriting practices.
  • Assess compliance with ALTA Best Practices, state regulations, and internal company policies.
  • Identify operational inefficiencies, control gaps, and potential areas of risk.
  • Prepare clear, detailed audit reports with actionable recommendations, and distribute reports to the appropriate management teams.
  • Complete statutory audits, prepare required documentation, and submit reports to regulatory agencies.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of the annual audit schedule.
  • Stay current on changes to title insurance laws, escrow regulations, and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with legal, compliance, and operations teams to ensure ongoing regulatory readiness.
  • Monitor corrective action plans and follow up on unresolved audit issues as assigned.
