About The Position

The Auditor position at Mindseeker involves performing internal quality reviews for coders supporting the Department of Defense (DoD) and the Defense Health Agency (DHA). This role is focused on ensuring coding compliance and accuracy while providing education and feedback to coders. The position is fully remote and offers a collaborative environment where auditors can thrive and enhance their skills.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of auditing experience reviewing outpatient, outpatient specialty, emergency room, observation, rounds, same day surgery, and/or inpatient accounts.
  • Extensive knowledge of coding and auditing, with the ability to cite official Coding Guidelines and National Coding Resources.
  • Maintain a 97% coding accuracy rate in ICD-10-CM, E&M, and CPT coding.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and usage, including general medical, surgical, pharmaceutical, hospital terms, and abstracting techniques.
  • 2+ years of experience in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Adobe PDF, and proficiency with computer hardware and software.

  • DoD or Veterans Administration auditing experience
  • MHS Genesis experience

Responsibilities

  • Perform internal quality reviews (IQRs) for new coders and provide daily updates.
  • Assist the Project Manager in managing workflow processes and identifying strengths and weaknesses of coding staff.
  • Participate in the recruiting process and ensure competency for a successful program.
  • Conduct quality assurance and performance evaluations of contract coders, including education and training.
  • Audit spreadsheets and written reports of findings for new and established coders.
  • Educate and provide feedback to coders through various training methods, ensuring coding compliance and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with fellow auditors, trainers, and management to support internal Quality Control Plan compliance.
  • Utilize MHS computer systems to access patient records and communicate internally via M365.
  • Achieve and maintain productivity and accuracy standards in alignment with the coding team's mission.
