Auditors conduct audits on accounts, records, activities, operations and/or internal controls of individuals, business organizations, State agencies or other government jurisdictions subject to State taxation or regulation to ensure compliance with State and federal rules and regulations and legal requirements and/or proper safeguarding of agency funds. Incumbents function as first-line supervisors who train, supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned staff; assign and review work; and initiate disciplinary action. The Department of Taxation is seeking to fill a vacant Audit Supervisor position in the Reno Office. This position will directly supervise auditors for the Department of Taxation. The role involves reviewing completed audits to ensure they comply with relevant laws, rulings, policies, procedures, and required formats. It also includes serving as the first level of review for appealed determinations and representing cases before a hearing officer when needed. Additional responsibilities include managing audit inventory, selecting accounts for audit, and developing and delivering public training workshops. The position also oversees performance evaluations, work standards, training, and disciplinary actions. Travel of up to 25% is required.
