The Audit Supervisor at CBIZ is responsible for overseeing multiple client engagements with a focus on SEC compliance. This role involves managing audit staff, ensuring the accuracy of financial statements, and maintaining effective communication with clients. The position requires a strong background in public accounting and supervisory experience, as well as the ability to manage deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively.

  • Conduct several client engagements simultaneously under the direction of a Managing Director and Manager.
  • Oversee staff during audit engagements and ensure billable hour requirements are met.
  • Coordinate various phases of engagements including planning, budgeting, and monitoring performance against budget.
  • Review work papers for accuracy and completeness, and financial statements for suitability of presentation and adequacy of disclosures.
  • Prepare reports and communicate findings and recommendations to management.
  • Supervise and develop attest staff on a daily basis.
  • Monitor actual time incurred and analyze it against budgeted time.
  • Update engagement Manager and Managing Director on all aspects of the engagement in a timely manner.
  • Take full ownership of all aspects of the assurance engagement from planning to report issuance and closing the binder.
  • Perform technical research as required and communicate engagement needs to clients.
  • Recognize extended service opportunities and cultivate effective relationships with clients and staff.
  • Participate in Level Training for junior staff and engage in professional development opportunities.
  • Master's degree in Accounting or related field (preferred).
  • CPA certification (preferred).
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 3 years of experience in public accounting or related field.
  • 1 year of supervisory experience.
  • Ability to manage deadlines and work on multiple assignments.
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills across all organizational levels.
  • Proficient use of applicable technology.
  • Master's degree in Accounting or related field.
  • CPA certification.
