We are hiring a Staff Accountant in our Audit Division to join the team at our Nampa or Ontario office. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field required
  • 0-5 years’ experience in accounting or audit related roles, including internships or practicum
  • Foundational understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting gained through education or work experience
  • Knowledge of Microsoft operating systems and applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams)
  • Ability to learn new systems quickly

Nice To Haves

  • Coursework in auditing or assurance preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assist with planning and performing compilation, review, and audit engagements in accordance with professional standards
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements, reports, and related audit documentation
  • Support firm quality control and compliance processes
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of accounting and auditing principles while maintaining confidentiality and ethical standards
  • Consistently meets billable and total time targets
  • Achieves an annual realization goal of 88% or more
  • Meets the annual learning requirement and participates in coaching conversations with supervisor
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, research, evaluate, and process technical information provided through review notes and is a proactive problem solver
  • Demonstrates a pattern of growth and development, learns from mistakes & avoids repeating errors
  • Prepares neat and organized financial statements with minimal review notes
  • Prepares accurate and well documented audit reports and workpapers with minimal review notes
  • Follows directions, determine when more information is needed, asks clear and concise questions to gain understanding and clarity and regularly communicate with Pod Lead on Job progress, workflow and stale projects
  • Willingness to work additional hours, as needed, through peak seasons and in the weeks leading up to critical department deadlines
  • Participates in Nichols events, trainings, staff meetings and town hall sessions
  • Ability to convey a professional message in verbal and written form
  • Demonstrate understanding and clarity of Nichols structure, values, mission and focus
  • Other duties as assigned
