About The Position

Audit Project Manager – Data Analytics Huntington Bank is seeking a highly skilled data analyst to join our Internal Audit department as an Audit Project Manager. In this execution‑focused role, you will leverage advanced analytics techniques to support audit testing, evaluate internal controls, and deliver data‑driven insights that strengthen risk management across the bank. This role requires strong technical acumen, independent delivery capability, and an ability to perform high‑quality code reviews for less experienced analysts. There will also be opportunities to build technical solutions for audit coverage that are not data driven. Although this position does not directly manage staff, you will serve as a technical expert and mentor by helping uplift analytical capabilities across the department.

  • 4+ years of relevant analytics experience, preferably within banking or financial services.
  • 3+ years SQL and/or Python experience and the ability to work with relational databases at scale.

Nice To Haves

  • Proven ability to mentor others through code reviews, technical guidance, or informal coaching.
  • Experience in banking, internal audit, or risk management.
  • Familiarity with visualization tools such as Tableau.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint).
  • Experience developing reusable analytics, audit testing scripts, or ETL pipelines.
  • Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high‑quality work in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, reliable analytics.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with senior managers and cross‑functional partners.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with auditors, senior leaders, and data owners to understand audit objectives and translate them into effective data testing strategies.
  • Design, develop, and execute data‑driven audit procedures using SQL, Python, and other analytics tools.
  • Extract, transform, and analyze large, complex datasets to identify patterns, anomalies, and insights related to key risks and controls.
  • Perform peer reviews of SQL and Python code created by junior analysts, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, documentation quality, and adherence to standards.
  • Create testing populations, exception testing routines, and repeatable analytics solutions supporting audit procedures.
  • Clearly document analytic logic and communicate results to audit teams and stakeholders in a concise and understandable manner.
  • Partner with colleagues across Internal Audit to promote data-driven approaches and strengthen analytical proficiency throughout the department.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of templates, code standards, analytics processes, and reusable testing libraries.
