The ideal candidate for the Audit Lead Senior Specialty will be a hands-on leader with strong coordination skills, a deep understanding of Asset and Liability Management (ALM) and associated regulatory rules and expectations. This role requires a solid grasp of capital, market, and liquidity frameworks; with ideally direct experience in auditing, risk management, and regulatory engagement. The candidate will also be expected to actively participate in and contribute to cross-disciplinary audit projects spanning Liquidity Management, Balance Sheet Management (including Interest Rate Risk Management), Capital Management, and Market Risk Management. Oversees the execution of complex components of the audit plan in alignment with audit standards to ensure consistency in documentation and communication of conclusions and recommendations to audit management and stakeholders, inclusive of cross functional/risk domain assessments; advises on strategic priorities and complex audits, including those with potential regulatory impact, audits where a heightened level of risk is assumed, and/or audits that require a heightened level of expertise. Finalizes annual and dynamic audit planning and risk assessments at the macro level (audit plan/audit universe); detail reviews audit scope, objectives, and work plans at the micro level (audit engagement); makes recommendations regarding the deployment of team resources. Specializes in internal and external audit and industry trends to assure audit processes and audit plan remain effective; contributes new ideas and methods to solve problems and drive change, with a focus on broad/big picture POV; advises on best practices and challenges audit practices accordingly. Consults with a collaborative mindset and behavior that aligns parties in a collective direction that enables the accomplishment of a shared goal; develops and maintains productive client and team relationships; advises on internal audit department procedures and practices, inclusive of dynamic audit principles to organize around the delivery of a project; manages effective and timely delivery of the organization's mission and service. Requirements

  • Roles at this level typically require a university / college degree. Higher level education such as a Masters degree, PhD, or certifications is desirable.
  • Industry relevant experience is typically 8+ years.
  • Specific certifications are often required.
  • In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education, job specific certification(s), and experience (including military service) may be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Support Annual ALM Audit Planning
  • Execute ALM Annual Audit Plan: Lead audit projects across Liquidity, Capital Management, Balance Sheet Management (including Interest Rate Risk Management), and Market Risk. These audit projects are executed to confirm alignment with applicable regulatory rules and expectations, as well as internal requirements and standards.
  • Execute Continuous Auditing: Leverage data testing and automation to execute continuous auditing of Liquidity, Capital Management, Balance Sheet Management (including Interest Rate Risk Management), and Market Risk.
  • Perform ALM issue validation remediation testing on issues identified by all sources (audit identified, self-identified, external identified, etc.)
