About The Position

The position involves applying technical knowledge to assess risks, evaluate clients’ internal control structures, perform testing to identify and resolve accounting or reporting issues, and draft financial statements. The role requires executing client audit engagement activities under the direction of senior staff, participating in pre-audit planning, reviewing client accounting procedures, and conducting fieldwork to gather necessary documentation. The individual will also prepare financial statement reports, perform analytical reviews, conduct accounting research, and ensure compliance with accounting and audit requirements. Additionally, the role includes maintaining knowledge of industry standards and actively preparing for the CPA exam.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
  • CPA certification preferred or progress towards obtaining CPA certification.
  • Two years of current and/or recent accounting or audit experience preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Working knowledge of office equipment, computer hardware, and peripheral devices.
  • Proficient with computer audit applications and Firm software applications.
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Statements on Auditing Standards (SAS).

Responsibilities

  • Executes client audit engagement activities under the direction of senior staff.
  • Participates in pre-audit planning for smaller audit engagements.
  • Reviews client accounting and operating procedures and systems of internal control.
  • Communicates with clients to conduct fieldwork at client sites.
  • Participates in the preparation of financial statement reports for less complex clients.
  • Performs analytical reviews of audit documents.
  • Prepares documentation supporting audit opinions.
  • Conducts accounting research to solve issues during audits.
  • Meets client deadlines for audit fieldwork and report issuance.
  • Prepares workpapers, writes audit reports, management letters, and other client deliverables.
  • Maintains knowledge of accounting and audit requirements.
  • Actively prepares for and takes the CPA exam.
  • Maintains required CPE for Firm and licensing standards.
  • Travels 20-30% of the time, with 10-15% being overnight travel.
