Your job is more than a job. The Audiology Extern diagnoses and provides aural rehabilitative services to the assigned population demonstrating hearing loss/issues. Assists audiologists in patient care activities as needed. Manages inventory and supplies, cleans, maintains equipment and assists with clerical duties for the audiology service interventions. GENERAL DUTIES Delivers clinically appropriate evaluation, therapy and aural rehabilitation services to neonates, infants, toddlers, school age children, adolescents and young adults. Develops appropriate recommendations for patient follow up. Implements knowledge of central auditory processing disorders in the diagnosis and interventions. Delivers clinical services and documents the intervention/services provided to the patients. Communicates with other members of the treatment team for patient care. Facilitates smooth transition to home. Facilitates the organizations compliance with all regulatory bodies and performs other duties as assigned or requested by supervisor or leadership within the department or hospital. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree From accredited university and currently enrolled in an Audiology Doctoral program.
  • 3 years of experience in an Audiology program and any clinical internships completed prior to advancing to an externship.
  • 1 year experience of Audiology internship experience.
  • Pediatric experience, ABR/ASSR and hearing aid experience.
  • American Heart Association BLS-HCP.
