About The Position

Audiologists at UF Health provide audiologic services to patients of all ages. The Audiology team provides services in the area of diagnostic evaluations of the hearing and balance systems, electrophysiology testing (ABR, ASSR, screening ABR, OAEs), cochlear implant evaluations and follow-up, osseointegrated device evaluations and follow-up, adult and pediatric hearing aids, as well as newborn hearing screenings and follow-up. The Audiology team works closely with the UF Health Otolaryngology physicians and collaborates to provide excellent patient centered care. The UF Health Hearing Center at The Oaks is an outpatient Audiology clinic which is centrally located in Gainesville with easy access for patients and providers. The Audiologist must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to identify, assess, and manage disorders of the auditory, balance, and other neural systems. The Audiologists must be able to provide audiological (aural) rehabilitation to children and adults across the entire age span. The Audiologists must be able to prevent hearing loss through the provision and fitting of hearing protective devices, consultation on the effects of noise on hearing, and consumer education. The Audiologists must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span of the patient and the individual must possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age- specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the unit's/area's/department's policies and procedures. Requirements

  • Licensed in State of Florida
  • Doctorate of Audiology (AuD) or Ph.D
  • Demonstrates knowledge and skill in a broad range of therapy services and settings
  • Demonstrates strong communication skills
  • Licensed by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA)
