About The Position

The position involves determining the presence or absence of hearing loss and improving communication function in patients with hearing loss, in collaboration with other medical and non-medical staff. The role also contributes to the revision and development of programs to meet the changing needs of the patient population and the institution. The essential functions of this position include understanding and promoting the organization's mission, vision, and core values, determining appropriate diagnostic and evaluative procedures, and providing differential diagnosis of auditory disorders for both in-patients and out-patients.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Audiology.
  • Current NYS license and registration in Audiology or eligibility of licensure.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology.
  • Minimum of 3 clinical years Audiology experience, post Master’s Degree.
  • NPI Number required.

Responsibilities

  • Understands and promotes Elizabeth Seton Children’s Mission, Vision, and Core Values to ensure application with organizational policies and procedures.
  • Determine appropriate diagnostic and evaluative procedures and provides differential diagnosis of auditory disorders for in-patients and out-patients, including ABR and ENG as needed.
  • Communicates results of evaluations and recommendations to patients and/or their families; other personnel, including but not limited to physicians.
  • Provides hearing aid evaluation to determine best amplification device for patients who may benefit from a hearing and/or other amplification system.
  • Consults with referring physician.
  • Engages in continuing education to maintain currency with theory and practice in Audiology and related areas.
  • Provides in-service education to educate other professionals about the scope and practice of Audiology.
  • Monitors calibration and servicing of Audiology equipment.
  • Prepares written reports which integrate objective test data with functional performance and medical status, and disseminates reports as appropriate, maintains records according to department policy.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care to age-specific needs of the patients served.
  • Comply with established CRC, Inc. policies and procedures regarding quality assurance, safety, environmental and infection control, confidentiality of patient information, customer service, attendance, punctuality, dress code, professional conduct, annual health assessments, etc.
  • Participate in all departmental in-services and staff development activities as appropriate.
  • Performs other duties as may be requested.

Benefits
