About The Position

Under the clinical supervision and direction of licensed Audiologist, the Audiologist Intern is accountable for the assessment, treatment, and management of patients with auditory disorders/hearing impairment. This one-year program provides training of the individual to become technically proficient in the performance of audiology procedures.

Requirements

• College degree - 4 year in Audiology required.
• Current enrollment in accredited Au.D. Program for externship placement or a graduate of an accredited Au.D. Program.
• California state licensure to practice Audiology pending.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 30 days of hire or transfer into position.

Nice To Haves

• Bilingual skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess, treat, and manage patients with auditory disorders/hearing impairment.
• Provide diagnostic audiology services to newborn children through young adults.
• Perform ABR and behavioral testing.
• Dispense amplification devices of all types.
• Counsel patients and families to support their preferred communication strategies.
• Coordinate care with other hospital disciplines and community services.
• Implement developmentally and culturally appropriate education.
