About The Position

An entry-level position for an individual eager to learn and develop skills in designing, delivering, and maintaining "Smart Classroom" and audio-visual systems throughout the university. This position frequently requires work outside of normal business hours. General Purpose Support the delivery of "Smart Classroom" experiences and provide basic A/V support for the university community under close supervision.

Requirements

  • Ability to assist with set-up and operation of PA systems

  • Strong desire to learn new technologies
  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Responsibilities

  • Assist team members with the deployment and maintenance of control systems and related equipment used throughout campus including in classrooms, multi-purpose rooms, boardrooms, video conference rooms, and forum spaces — collectively referred to as "Smart Classrooms"
  • Learn to set up, configure, and troubleshoot A/V control systems and interfaces in Smart Classrooms under direct supervision
  • Perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting of Smart Classroom equipment to ensure availability for campus faculty and sponsored events
  • Assist in maintaining inventory and documentation of campus A/V equipment
  • Support planning and installation of technology in new Smart Classroom spaces
  • Serve as a first-line responder for the IT HelpDesk to provide basic tech support to campus community members using Smart Classroom technologies
  • Maintain a flexible schedule including the ability to work weekends and evenings on occasion
  • Assist in training campus community members in the basic use of A/V control equipment, projection equipment, computers, and digital/analog audio/video devices
  • Assist the university's student-run media service for events that require AV support
