About The Position

Amentum is looking for an Audio Visual Supervisor to join our team in Chantilly, VA! As the Audio Visual Supervisor, you will provide overall vision, planning, direction and control for event Audio/Visual (A/V) setups, with a focus on training A/V staff and technology in event facilities. The Audio Visual Supervisor makes strategic decisions, executes and delivers on those decisions to improve A/V processes and/or customer service. Also provides motivation and guidance to Events branch staff. Establishes and maintains effective customer relationship with client. Seeks opportunities to develop new business or expand existing business. Must be a U.S. citizen. Must possess and maintain an active Top Secret/SCI clearance. Work Schedule: M-F, 8 hr shifts, Occasional Weekend Work

  • Understanding of corporate culture, policies and goals and how to implement them as a supervisor.
  • Able to defuse conflicts among subordinate employees and peers.
  • Understanding client base, identifying their needs, and how to interact with them.
  • Knows when, how and to whom to delegate tasks to, and follow up.
  • Communicate in clear and professional manner.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Five (5) years of management experience.
  • Five (5) years of Audio/Visual equipment operation experience
  • Must be physically capable of lifting 50lbs, prolonged standing/walking

Nice To Haves

  • Accreditation/Certification in A/V fields of study (e.g., A/V Tech., CTS, A/V Designer, A/V Installer, etc.).
  • Demonstrated knowledge of best practices within the A/V trade.
  • Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written) with a wide variety of audiences (e.g., customers, A/V technicians, engineers, management, etc.).
  • Demonstrated ability to generate new business opportunities
  • Proficient in the use of computers and Microsoft Office products, primarily the use of word processing, database applications, presentation and spreadsheet software.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Business, Communications or related field of study (Preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates the training activities of the Events Media Specialists to best utilize A/V equipment and event preparation.
  • Manages personnel within Events branch including hiring, disciplinary actions, and evaluation of staff performance.
  • Inspects A/V and Event setups to ensure quality of services is met, evaluates A/V and Event equipment condition and recommends improvements.
  • Oversees the work of subcontractor services.
  • Confers with Event Services Manager regarding needed support and corrective actions for any and all operational or personnel issues.
  • Resolves and follows-up on all customer complaints/issues.
  • Represents the organization by participating in meetings, committees and/or task teams with the client and industry associations.
  • Leads the development, implementation and upkeep of all branch policies, plans and procedures to ensure contractual compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with all company and client administrative and safety directives, policies and procedures.
  • Assemble and submit accurate weekly, monthly, annual and all other requested reports by the required deliverable time.
  • Manage QA/QC program for branch related tasks including the development and implementation of metrics to measure staff performance, A/V equipment maintenance and replacement schedule, manage event facility upgrades and actively work to improve processes at all levels.
  • Ensure appropriate funding processes comply with established processes to ensure projects and work are properly funded and monitored.
  • Coordinate with amentum management and/or client personnel to execute work to the customer’s satisfaction.
  • Maintain, update, and utilize Branch Operational Plans.
  • Ensure Government Furnished Equipment is properly accounted for.
  • Develop business opportunities.
  • Willing to work outside of regular hours as needed to ensure success of project or event.
  • Perform all other related job duties.
