To assist University Audio-Visual Department with AV Setups and Classroom Technology. Candidates must be team-oriented and have flexible scheduling to work for a few hours on some evening and/or weekends. There are not a lot of afterhours or weekend events needing AV and most weekday events finish before 7pm. Weekend events are rare and usually only last 1 to 2 hours. Most of the time you will assist with loading a PowerPoint on a computer to display to a projector or TV. This usually takes less than 15 minutes however you still get paid for the entire hour plus overtime. If your class schedule and other out of classroom activities are already taking up most of your free time, then University AV will not be the best job or fit for you. The Audio-Visual Work-study position is technical however no experience is required! We will train you on everything you need to know to succeed in this job. Most duties include setting up Public Announcement speakers, Projection equipment, and connecting and other devices to projectors or televisions. Some advanced duties involve making a call or VC connection with our Video Conference Room Systems. Although this is a technical atmosphere and within Information technology most of your daily routines can be completed in little time giving you a lot of time to study at our student work desk.
