About The Position

The AV Junior Technician position is integral to the smooth operation of daily church events, focusing on assisting with the setup, operation, and breakdown of audio-visual (AV) equipment. This role is designed for individuals keen on beginning a career in AV technology within a faith-based environment. This position reports to the Manager of AV Production. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Support in setting up, operating, dismantling, storing, and maintaining AV equipment for various church events Ensure proper setup and secure storage of AV equipment after all events, keeping storage areas organized Read and interpret room diagrams to ensure accurate AV setups for events and activities Assist in basic troubleshooting of AV equipment and facilitate repairs when needed Ensure a safe and secure working environment, adhering to safety protocols Be knowledgeable about emergency procedures and act accordingly in case of emergencies Attend and assist in basic AV training sessions for other staff or volunteers Clean and maintain AV equipment, reporting any damages or misuse to the Audio-Visual Technical Supervisor Handle sensitive, confidential information and assignments with tact, discretion and diplomacy Perform other related duties as assigned Training and Development Participate in shadowing opportunities with experienced AV Technicians Attend workshops focused on troubleshooting techniques, including cable management and projector operations MINISTERIAL DUTIES As an employee of Lakewood Church, you are a part of an over 60-year legacy of faith. Requirements

  • Basic technical knowledge and experience in working with sound, video, and lighting systems, including their design, terminology, and methodology

  • Ability to troubleshoot AV issues in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to lift and transport up to 25 lbs of AV equipment as needed
  • Punctuality and reliability are essential to the function of this position
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to include evenings, weekends, and special occasions
  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of two years of experience in an industry-related field, working in multi-room AV setups, dealing with audio, video, and lighting systems

Responsibilities
