Audio-Visual Install Technician

A-V Services Inc., a prominent Audio Video company with multiple Fortune 100 contracts in the financial, pharmaceutical, and computing sectors, is seeking an Audio-Visual Install Technician. This full-time position is based in Fairfield, NJ, and offers a competitive salary starting from $65,000 per year. The ideal candidate will possess strong customer service skills, particularly in supporting the corporate sector, and will have comprehensive audio-video skills. Candidates should ideally hold an Associate's degree in a technology-related field and have a minimum of three years of relevant experience in the AV industry. The Audio-Visual Install Technician will be responsible for effectively prioritizing and executing tasks, demonstrating excellent termination, cable management, and organizational skills. The role requires the ability to operate power tools, lift heavy loads, and work at heights using ladders or scaffolding. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills are essential, as is the ability to communicate technical information clearly and concisely. The technician will collaborate with Control and DSP programmers in the field to load programs remotely and will be expected to read and interpret AV system flow diagrams and support documentation fluently. Additional responsibilities include troubleshooting and diagnosing AV equipment failures, utilizing Crestron Toolbox, and having experience with Crestron DM/Extron/Cisco certification, which is a plus. Knowledge of Bi-Amp, Poly, and ClearOne, along with the ability to modify DSP, is also advantageous. The technician will wire and rewire AV rack equipment, troubleshoot network issues, and possess knowledge of commercial IT networks for LAN or WAN. A comprehensive understanding of all areas of the A/V field, including Crestron control systems, conference schedulers, switching/routing/interfacing technology, and video & audio-conferencing technologies, is required.
