About The Position

The AV Field Engineer I will be able to install and operate most types of AV systems and equipment. This role involves troubleshooting and diagnosing equipment problems in a senior service support capacity, including testing and field verification of connections, labels, installation, and work quality. The engineer will also understand advanced system drawings, specifications, and technical manuals, and will be responsible for creating shop drawings and submittals for new project kick-offs. Additionally, the AV Field Engineer I must understand Control System and/or DSP program manipulation and commissioning, and will be involved in uploading and manipulating code for various AV equipment. The position requires commissioning audio systems, configuring IP addressable devices, and having a basic understanding of data networking. The role includes both in-house and field work, and the engineer will assume ownership of project installations, providing support to field staff and project managers. Responsibilities also include maintaining project punch-lists, overseeing technical aspects of projects, pre-quality checking projects, assisting sales staff with product demonstrations, and handling other assigned responsibilities.

Requirements

  • At least a High School diploma or GED equivalency; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • 3-4 years of overall audiovisual commercial integration industry experience.
  • Proven track record in audiovisual systems engineering and control systems commissioning.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and MS Project).
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated ability to define a project, create a project scope of work, and manage tasks to completion.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment problems in a senior service support role.
  • Test and verify system components and functions.

  • Manipulate and commission Control System and/or DSP programs.
  • Upload and manipulate code for AV equipment.
  • Commission audio systems.
  • Configure IP addressable devices and understand data networking.
  • Work both in-house and in the field as required.
  • Assume ownership of project installation and support field staff.
  • Assist with maintaining and completing project punch-lists.
  • Oversee technical aspects of projects and IT coordination.
  • Pre-quality check projects, test equipment and functionality, and create punch lists.
  • Assist sales staff with product and system demonstrations.
  • Handle other responsibilities as assigned.
