This Audio Visual Engineering, Lead Associate role involves providing comprehensive support for video operations, infrastructure and system management, event production, customer support, and strategic planning. The associate will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting video conferencing equipment, supporting new room build-outs and technology refreshes, coordinating and producing virtual and hybrid events, training end-users, and researching innovative video technologies.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 3 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 9 years with High School Diploma
  • Experience with video conferencing, AV systems, or IT infrastructure support.
  • Experience with VTC systems (Cisco, Polycom, Zoom, Teams, etc.).
  • Familiarity with network infrastructure and Tier 3 troubleshooting.
  • Strong knowledge of AV system design and integration.
  • Proficiency in project management and documentation.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and troubleshoot video conferencing equipment and systems.
  • Provide Tier 3 incident support and perform preventative maintenance.
  • Schedule and support virtual and hybrid conferences, ensuring high-quality delivery.
  • Assist with network refresh initiatives to maintain optimal performance.
  • Support new room build-outs, technology refresh projects, and system upgrades.
  • Conduct requirements analysis and site surveys for new installations.
  • Design conference room layouts and system configurations.
  • Manage procurement, inventory, and asset tracking for video equipment.
  • Document configurations and maintain system documentation.
  • Perform system testing and support security reviews and certification processes.
  • Establish processes and standards for virtual/hybrid events at DOE.
  • Coordinate with program office POCs, external presenters, labs, and vendors.
  • Schedule and conduct multiple dry runs for events.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues during rehearsals and live events.
  • Format presentation slides and produce live events.
  • Conduct post-event assessments, capture lessons learned, and update SOPs.
  • Provide training for end-users on video conferencing systems and event processes.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and technical support during events.
  • Participate in technology refresh planning and strategic initiatives.
  • Research and recommend innovative video technologies and solutions.
