About The Position

As an Audio Visual Engineer at Applied Intuition, you will be the cornerstone of our internal and external event productions and the lead for our global conference room infrastructure. We are looking for a proactive and self-directed leader who can take ownership of our AV systems, from daily operations to strategic, long-term projects. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring a seamless and high-quality audio-visual experience for all employees and guests. You will not only manage the technology but also lead projects, direct support staff during events, and shape the future of AV at our company by defining standards and managing key vendor relationships.

Requirements

  • Significant hands-on experience as an AV Engineer in a fast-paced corporate environment
  • Technical expertise with modern video conferencing platforms (e.g., Zoom Rooms, Google Hangouts/Meet, Microsoft Teams Rooms)
  • Extensive experience with a wide range of AV hardware for both conferencing and live events, including control systems (Crestron, Extron), audio DSPs (Biamp, QSC), and microphone systems (Shure)
  • Proven experience in a lead role for live event production and technical support
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects independently, from conception and design to implementation and support
  • Strong leadership and collaboration skills, with experience directing other technical staff
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to remain calm and effective under pressure
  • Experience managing vendor relationships and overseeing project budgets

Nice To Haves

  • Industry certifications such as CTS (Certified Technology Specialist) or CTS-D (Design)
  • Experience with live streaming technologies and platforms (e.g., OBS, Vimeo, YouTube Live)
  • A solid understanding of networking principles as they apply to AV systems (AV-over-IP, QoS)
  • Experience with AV control system programming or scripting

Responsibilities

  • Take a lead role in the planning, setup, and execution of AV for a wide range of company events, including all-hands meetings, executive offsites, and external-facing conferences
  • Own the design, implementation, and maintenance of all conference room AV technology and video conferencing (VC) systems across our global offices
  • Define and document AV standards to ensure a consistent and reliable user experience for all employees, regardless of location
  • Act as the primary AV stakeholder for new office builds and renovations, overseeing design, vendor selection, and installation to ensure projects are completed to our standards, on time, and within budget
  • Manage relationships with our AV integration partners and hardware/software vendors
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for VC platforms, including Zoom and Google Meet, providing training and advanced support
  • Collaborate with and direct members of the IT Helpdesk and other teams to ensure successful event support and daily AV operations
  • Proactively troubleshoot and resolve complex AV system issues, ensuring minimal downtime
