About The Position

By Light is seeking an Audio Visual Installation and Maintenance Engineer and Operator to support an IT Service Management effort for USTRANSCOM located at Scott Air Force Base (AFB) in Illinois. The USTC Managed Information Technology Services (MITS) contract is intended to provide strategic, technical, and program management guidance and support services to facilitate the operations and modernization of the combatant command's infrastructure, systems, and applications. This support will be provided to the USTC Command, Control, Communications & Cyber Systems Directorate (TCJ6). The successful candidate will provide their Audio Visual expertise to the Video Teleconferencing (VTC) and Audiovisual team providing all facets of customer service including installing, maintaining, monitoring, troubleshooting, and operating of audiovisual systems and video conference and briefing support facilities.

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree.
  • Seven (7) or more years of experience in relevant electronic systems installation and maintenance.
  • Ability to read and understand block diagrams, drawings, and electrical schematics.
  • Adept in the use of electronic test equipment and small hand tools.
  • Basic carpentry skills for installing speakers, mounts, and low voltage infrastructure.
  • Proficient in basic computer operations including knowledge of MS Office products.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment under potentially stressful situations.
  • Ability to accommodate a flexible work schedule including early mornings, evenings, nights, and weekends.
  • Ability to routinely lift at least 80 pounds unassisted.

  • ITIL Foundation V4 certification.
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)-Voice/CCNP-Collaboration certification.
  • Crestron Certified Programmer.
  • AVIXA CTS or CTS-I Certification.

Responsibilities

  • On-site installation, termination, and testing of audio, video, control and network wires, cables, and equipment within professional audiovisual systems.
  • Support turnover of the completed installations to the Government to include acceptance testing and training.
  • Assist the AV / VTC Install and Maintenance Team to fully commission and maintain installed systems.
  • Assist other team members as required to provide the customer with superior support.
  • Demonstrate technical subject matter expertise in the planning and execution of IT solutions.
  • Configure and troubleshoot Voice and VTC networks.
  • Collaborate with others to isolate and resolve complex audiovisual system problems.
