Audio-Visual (AV) Installation Technician II - Kansas City, MO KCAV is a family-owned, rapidly growing audio-visual equipment installation and service company with over 70 employees across Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, and remote locations. We are currently seeking a Lead Technician in Kansas City, Missouri. This position is crucial as Installation Technicians are responsible for installing AV systems and performing general labor as assigned at customer job locations. The role requires local and regional travel, making it essential for candidates to be flexible and willing to travel as needed. This is a Lead Technician role designed for individuals with 6-8 years of prior AV installation experience, particularly those who have demonstrated the ability to lead projects effectively. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, possess master-level troubleshooting skills, and be able to read engineering drawings and specification sheets. They should also be capable of identifying design errors and developing practical solutions. A valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record are mandatory for this position, as is the ability to pass a background check, including pre-employment drug screening. The selected candidates will be expected to fill out progress documentation in a timely manner and possess the decision-making skills necessary to lead large, complex projects. Excellent communication skills are essential, both for internal collaboration with KCAV employees and for external interactions with site contacts and contractors. The position requires a commitment to learning and a solid mechanical aptitude, along with the ability to problem-solve and work independently.
