About The Position

Position Overview: Montage Marketing Group is seeking an Audio Video Production Specialist to join our team and provide onsite support to a federal government agency located in the Washington, DC area. The Audio Video Production Specialist provides full spectrum video support, including conception, research, writing, scripting, audio, and editing. This role requires exceptional communication, organization, adaptability, and time management skills to successfully manage multiple complex projects simultaneously. This individual plays a key role in enhancing communications with internal and external audiences in support of the Agency’s mission. This position is contingent upon contract award and will require 5 days/week onsite in Alexandria, VA. The salary for this position is $90,000-$95,000/year. Requirements

  • 5-10 years’ experience as a video and multimedia project producer.
  • Experience leading video teams of 3 or more in the development of video/multimedia segments, programs, or series.
  • Experience translating complex topics into compelling video for a wide variety of audiences.
  • Experience conducting and editing interviews with subject matter experts.
  • Experience with on-camera work.
  • Experience in a diverse spectrum of scriptwriting.
  • Knowledge of delivery specs/codecs (H.264/H.265/ProRes; WAV/MP3) and loudness normalization.
  • Experience working in restricted/federal IT environments and handling sensitive content appropriately.

Responsibilities

  • Concept Development and Production: Understand strategic communication objectives and conceive and recommend appropriate productions.
  • Work with Agency teams to plan and develop video programs by transforming communications campaigns/ideas and complex science into production ideas requiring the determination of format, approach, content, and level of presentation.
  • Conduct research to identify potential sources for specific visuals and audio and video clips and determine their availability from outside sources.
  • Conceive, produce, write and create audio content, including (but not limited to) research topics.
  • Coordinate, record and conduct interviews.
  • Write, report, narrate and host segments/podcasts.
  • Edit audio content (spoken word, natural sound, music and sound effects) into audio packages, segments and podcasts.
  • Seek appropriate distribution and distribute content.
  • Notify media and distribution platforms of the content’s availability.
  • Use digital asset management systems to maintain and archive images/multimedia and permission documents.
  • Perform operator-level maintenance on video production and post-production equipment, e.g., cleaning, replacing cables, batteries, lamps, etc.
  • Perform file maintenance and archiving functions on editing system and portable hard drives.
  • Perform other production management and production systems management as requested to maintain orderly ongoing projects and an orderly production facility.
  • Multi-camera field/studio production; camera ops, lighting, audio capture.
  • Live/hybrid recording support (Teams/Webex/Zoom capture, basic switching/streaming if applicable).
  • Location audio best practices (lav/boom, wireless/RF coordination, backup recording).
  • Ensure all products for internal and external use follow all Agency branding guidelines and are reviewed by Agency branding team.
  • Subject Matter Expertise Serve as a multimedia team representative on inter-team projects.
  • As required, serve as the lead writer on specific projects in close coordination with Agency staff, researchers, and public information officers.
  • Develop and produce compelling, creative, easy-to-understand materials to engage a variety of age groups, audience, and related styles.
  • Write treatments and scripts, performing the requisite research and interviews to deliver meaningful content.
  • As required, support the development of responses regarding multimedia content for the public, media, and research community.
  • Team Coordination Coordinate with scientists, engineers, Agency staff and others to obtain needed materials and to coordinate various aspects of productions.
  • Handle internal and external requests for information, footage and finished products, including corresponding with requestors and providing files.
  • Create and use spreadsheets to assist team in tracking and filling requests.
  • Perform archiving and other administrative, coordinating and lower-level technical support duties.
  • Demonstrate creative problem solving to deliver high-quality multimedia products.
  • Maintain production calendars/intake forms and manage request queue with clear priorities.
  • Establish file naming/versioning conventions and ensure secure file transfer procedures.
  • Quality control checks before release (correct branding, captions, audio clarity, correct formats).
  • Coordinate talent/location releases and permissions tracking (and store with assets).
