As our Audio Supervisor, you’ll shape the sonic backbone of one of the Midwest’s premier performing arts hubs—engineering, maintaining, and elevating the audio systems that power everything from Broadway hits and intimate cabaret sets to outdoor festivals, student performances, and K‑12 arts education events. This is a hands‑on, high‑impact role for an audio professional who loves both the precision of technical design and the thrill of live mixing. You’ll collaborate closely with visiting artists, production teams, and campus partners; train and support emerging technicians; and ensure every performance—from front‑of‑house to monitor world—sounds extraordinary. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience required
  • 1-3 years minimum professional work experience
  • Demonstrates a working proficiency level of verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Software
  • Proficient in software (but not limited to): Array Calc, Q Lab, Dante
  • Schedule may vary based on event schedule. Night and weekend work will be required when necessary.
  • Ability to move 50 pounds, remain in a stationary position, and move for extended hours.

  • Demonstrates a working proficiency level in: Supporting audio with various styles/genre events
  • Demonstrates a working proficiency level in: Mentoring/training students or other professionals in audio systems, technical elements, and engineering
  • Member of Audio Engineering Society

Responsibilities

  • Preside over the operation of performance sound systems, advising artists and technicians as required.
  • Optimize the effectiveness of sound systems via audio measurement methods and design tools.
  • Perform software modifications and repairs for all building audio equipment.
  • Collaborate with production manager on equipment upgrades and purchases.
  • Oversee the training and supervise the work of both student and professional union stage personnel in the use of audio and other stage systems.
