About The Position

The Audio Department Head role at Sound Investment ensures that all components of the Audio Department are operating in unison to meet and maintain a high level of service to SI’s clients. This role also manages the correct implementation and training of sound vision or other company-approved software standards. This position reports directly to the Production Manager.

Requirements

Minimum five years experience in a Live Sound Leadership Role

Responsibilities

Responsible for all audio and audio rigging systems oversight, design, implementation, and management company-wide.
Review all audio implementations company-wide and either approve or correct as needed.
Solely responsible for audio department hiring in the warehouse and field, including full-time staff and freelance
Actively onboard, mentor, and train new hires and existing staff
Responsible for all audio tech scheduling, skills assessment, development, and disciplinary action up to and including termination.
Manage audio department’s company PTO and sick time based on company standard.
Work with sub-rent vendors to achieve the best pricing for the audio department and help the project management team with the best equipment over-hire practices.
Review and ensure the audio inventory system is correct, implement proper maintenance, provide ROI on inventory, and assist and consult departmental expenditures company-wide.
Attend events to ensure company standards are met and to capitalize on training and mentoring opportunities.
Project Manage events as needed
