About The Position

Leibovic Law Group, LLP, the in-house law firm for Health Advocates, is seeking an Attorney for our main office in Chatsworth, CA. This position will be responsible for all legal aspects of claim handling related to Workers Compensation, Third party Liens, and Insurance Collections. Job responsibilities include providing legal support for Insurance Recoveries Third Party Liability and Workers’ Compensation, maintaining assigned accounts to ensure timely case resolution, coordinating and developing action plans for group and individual claims in coordination with department leadership, participating in claim negotiations and settlements at all levels, drafting and reviewing legal documents to support legal citations in claim resolution, providing ongoing education/training on legal aspects and changes in laws that impact claim recovery outcomes, assisting non-attorneys with case management, performing legal research, and performing miscellaneous related duties as required.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctorate Degree.
  • Admission to California State bar.
  • Experience with healthcare claim adjudication regulations and industry practices for health benefit and accident claims.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Strong negotiation and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and with others.
  • Ability to manage large projects.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and legal research databases.
  • Type at least 40 wpm.

Responsibilities

  • Provide legal support for Insurance Recoveries Third Party Liability and Workers’ Compensation.
