About The Position

We are an established real estate law firm with offices across California. Our Irvine and Los Angeles office is seeking an Attorney with at least two years’ experience to handle a wide array of complex civil litigation matters including, but not limited to, employment litigation, habitability, premises liability, and other landlord-tenant disputes. We are looking for someone who is eager to learn, a great team player, has a positive attitude, and who will develop strong relationships with our large client base while providing quality and effective representation. While you will be partnered with supportive mentors, ideal candidates must be able to operate independently with limited need for supervision. Our business hours are 8:30am-5:30pm Monday-Thursday, 8:30am-5:00pm Friday. Training will be completed in the office and then the successful hire may be permitted to work remotely/hybrid. Compensation: $135k-$225k annually (DOE) + Benefits

Requirements

  • J.D. and an active California Bar license
  • 3-10 years of civil litigation experience
  • General knowledge of civil litigation and landlord-tenant law
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Trial experience
  • Employment Law and/or Employment Litigation
  • Experience in the rental housing industry
  • Lexis/Westlaw experience
  • Experience with case management and/or document management systems

Responsibilities

  • Provide legal representation to clients, assessing the facts and issues of each scenario and counseling clients appropriately
  • Review documents and guide clients through the eviction process
  • Provide legal advice through phone consultations, emails, and video conferences
  • Draft legal correspondence, including letters and notices
  • Litigate unlawful detainer trials throughout Southern California courts
  • Draft pre-trial motions and pleadings
  • Represent the firm internally and externally
  • Complete project-based work and additional duties as needed to support the practice group
  • The successful candidate will be required to make court appearances.
  • This position has a billable hour goal of 1650 hours p/year.
