The Senior Attorney for Civil Litigation provides legal advice and legal services to the Department of Child Services (DCS) Central Office staff and other DCS staff as needed in reviewing and editing legal pleadings to be filed on behalf of the agency. You will also review, prepare, and analyze discovery requests and responses. You will attend depositions and assist in preparation of witnesses, including potential future witnesses when DCS has identified potential for future litigation. You will work with the Office of the Attorney General (OAG) and outside counsel as assigned to further the agency's interests in litigation. You will perform complex research and synthesize information for both legal and non-legal stakeholders. You may also assist with U-visas, expungements, administrative hearings, administrative rulemaking, and other tasks as assigned.
