About The Position

The Attorney Recruiting Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the Attorney Recruiting team at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP. This position involves providing administrative and secretarial support, ensuring smooth operations within the department, and contributing to the recruitment process of attorneys and summer associates. The role requires effective communication, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of one year of administrative or secretarial experience.
  • Knowledge of relevant firm computer software programs (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Demonstrates close attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and shifting priorities.
  • Ability to work well independently and within a team.
  • Flexibility to adjust hours to meet business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support for the Attorney Recruiting department, including telephone and receptionist services.
  • Maintain calendars and coordinate logistical arrangements for meetings.
  • Prepare correspondence, documents, reports, and spreadsheets.
  • Maintain department files and central index of recruitment files.
  • Process invoices, check requests, and expense reports, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation.
  • Coordinate conference room logistics, including food and room setup.
  • Compile documents for Hiring Committee meetings and prepare agendas.
  • Assist with planning summer associate and attorney events, tracking RSVPs, and creating name badges.
  • Support the arrival, departure, and orientation of attorneys and summer associates, including processing welcome letters and updating manuals.
  • Assist with administrative duties during the fall hiring season, including data entry and office tours.
  • Support diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts within the DC Office.
