About The Position
We are a fast-paced litigation firm focused on insurance defense and related civil litigation across New York and New Jersey. Our attorneys rely on strong administrative structure, efficient workflow, organized office systems, and sound financial tracking. We are seeking recent law school graduates or those graduating this Spring to join a successful and fast-paced litigation practice. This role offers direct, hands-on involvement in active cases and is ideal for candidates looking to build a strong foundation in litigation. Responsibilities include drafting pleadings, motions, and proposed judgments, reviewing evidentiary materials, and assisting with court filings, document preparation, and general litigation support. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of managing multiple assignments in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment.
Requirements
- 0-2 years of experience. Recent law school graduate or graduating this Spring.
- Strong interest in a fast-paced, high-volume litigation environment.
- Experience or familiarity with drafting pleadings, motions, and legal documents.
- Proficiency with legal research tools, document management systems, and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to respond well to feedback.
Responsibilities
- Draft pleadings, motions, and proposed judgments.
- Review evidentiary materials and case files to identify key facts and legal issues.
- Assist with court filings, document preparation, and general litigation support.
- Conduct legal research using recognized legal research tools and platforms.
- Prepare summaries of case law, statutes, and legal authorities.
- Organize and maintain case files to ensure accuracy and accessibility.
- Support e-filing and document management processes.
- Utilize Excel and other tools to track case materials, deadlines, and deliverables.
- Review and finalize work product to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with firm standards.
- Handle assignments independently, including tasks with limited direction.
- Manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Work closely with attorneys and staff to support ongoing litigation matters.
- Receive and apply feedback constructively to improve work product.
- Maintain clear and professional communication across the team.
