This position is required in order to provide legal support as provided by G.S. 97-94. This attorney assists the Industrial Commission in conducting investigations and bringing civil or administrative proceedings to collect penalties and restitution from persons who violate the Workers' Compensation Fraud Statute. This position will provide legal assistance to the Industrial Commission and enable the Commission to enforce the statute as directed by the General Assembly. This position will also assist in representing the State in actions brought pursuant to the North Carolina Tort Claims Act - G.S. 143-291 et seq. and those additional matters as assigned by their supervisor.
