About The Position

Serves as a municipal prosecutor in the City of Lubbock Municipal Court as part of the City Attorney's Office.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited law school with a J.D. degree
• Licensed to practice before all courts of the State of Texas
• Valid Current Driver's License
• Knowledge of principles and practices of federal, state, and local laws relating to local government, along with legal research methods

Responsibilities

• Be assigned as a Municipal Court Prosecutor to present cases before Municipal Court
• Prosecute city ordinances and Texas Penal Code Class 'C' misdemeanors
• Assist other city attorneys in preparation of trial briefs and pleadings
• Research various city codes to facilitate code enforcement by various City departments
• Preparing, researching, arguing, filing and responding to motions
• Report directly to the Chief Municipal Prosecutor
• Perform related duties as directed
