About The Position

Requirements

  • Ability to learn and embrace new skills and best practices as the position evolves.
  • Must have ability to work with minimal supervision on many projects and initiatives.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with attorneys and business services at all levels.
  • Ability to use independent judgment, problem solve, take initiative and follow through.
  • Expert ability to build strong relationships and operate as a trusted advisor.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and participate in firm-wide projects and initiatives focused on attorney training and development.
  • Manage the attorney matter assignment process and report on cross-office capacity and workloads.
  • Track attorney workloads to ensure equitable distribution of assignments aligned with client needs and individual professional development goals.
  • Conduct one-on-one meetings with assigned firm attorneys to provide support throughout all attorney life cycle stages.
  • Develop agendas for the Development and Retention Committee and ensure major initiatives are tracked and moving forward.
  • Plan onboarding discussions and ensure new lawyers are included in flagship trainings.
  • Circulate monthly new associate surveys and report findings to the team.
  • Assess staffing needs for incoming associates and report status to the First Year Committee.
  • Respond to inbound requests for staffing support and track work declinations.
  • Utilize financial dashboards for staffing and productivity purposes.
  • Manage updates for all associates regarding leaves of absence and reduced hours.
  • Implement support steps for the Associate Review Committee, including managing timelines and historical files.
  • Collaborate with various department leaders to develop strategies for recruiting and retention of attorneys.
  • Analyze professional development information and make recommendations for strategies and programs.
