About The Position

PLG Damage Attorneys is seeking a dedicated Attorney At Law to join their growing team in Miramar, FL. The ideal candidate will work closely with senior partners and administrative staff to provide exceptional legal representation to clients, particularly in first-party property insurance claims. This role requires strong research and writing skills, effective communication, and the ability to manage a caseload from inception to resolution.

Requirements

  • Graduation from law school with Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree and experience in representing clients for at least 2 years.
  • Advanced computer skills working with legal research programs (Westlaw and Lexis) required.
  • Candidates must currently be a member of their local bar association - active member preferred.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years experience in a law firm environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office/Google Suite is necessary.

Nice To Haves

  • 2-4 years of recent experience in First-Party Property Insurance is HIGHLY preferred.
  • Public speaking, decision-making, communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills are necessary for this role.

Responsibilities

  • Advise clients by weighing available options toward a successful outcome and plan a course of action.
  • Identify client conflicts and determine case strategies with options for resolution.
  • Perform research, draft briefs, pleadings, and motions.
  • Argue motions in court on behalf of clients during legal proceedings.
  • Supervise administrative staff, paralegals, and law clerks.
  • Manage a caseload of first-party property insurance claims from inception through resolution, including conducting detailed case assessments and developing effective litigation strategies.
  • Provide radical customer service experience to clients by providing case updates, gathering necessary information, and offering legal advice.
  • Prepare and present case evaluations and legal recommendations.
  • Perform comprehensive legal research to support case preparation and strategy.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and other legal documents.
  • Represent clients in court appearances, including hearings, trials, and mediations.
  • Engage in settlement negotiations with opposing counsel, insurance companies, and other relevant parties.
