The Waycross Judicial Circuit is seeking to fill an Assistant Public Defender I, II, III, or IV position in Ware County. Primary duties will include, but not limited to, representation of indigent criminal defendants in the Superior Courts. Applicants must meet the qualifications and have the necessary skills to perform the job duties and responsibilities of the position. Candidates of all levels of experience will be considered. The chosen applicant will be a member in good standing with the State Bar of Georgia and must have a strong commitment to indigent criminal defense. Salary is commensurate with experience. Description of Duties: The Assistant Public Defender will provide competent and zealous representation and advocacy to indigent clients. These positions perform duties ranging from beginning- level to lead attorney, assigned to serious, high-profile, and significant felony cases, as well as performing professional legal work and may assist in cases of routine complexity. To be considered for this position, candidates must possess a Juris Doctorate from an accredited college or university and a license to practice law in the State of Georgia.
