About The Position

The Department of Pediatrics at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine and the Division of Developmental Behavioral Pediatrics at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago are seeking a full-time, non-tenure-eligible Clinician-Educator at the rank of Instructor or Assistant Professor. Responsibilities include diagnosis and clinical care of children with possible developmental disabilities including children with autism with and without psychiatric comorbidities. A significant percentage of patient population includes children within the preschool age. Our clinical teams include psychologists, social workers, nurses, advance practice providers, therapists, and resource specialists. Clinical activity will occur at Lurie Children's main hospital and/or outreach sites. Qualified candidates will be board-certified or board-eligible in Developmental Behavioral Pediatrics or Neurodevelopmental Disabilities. Child Neurologists with specific training and expertise in the care of children with disabilities will also be considered. The Department of Pediatrics offers opportunities in the areas of program development, clinical service and quality management, scholarly work, and training of residents and medical students. All Lurie Children's faculty will engage in administrative, advocacy, and scholarly activity. Demonstrated, specific clinical and as such, professional areas of focus and expertise are valued. The start date is June 2026 (negotiable) and the position will remain open until filled. This position will be on the non-tenure eligible track and rank will be commensurate with experience and track record. The position offers a competitive salary and benefits package. The expected base pay range for this position is $175,118 - $214,500. Northwestern University has provided a pay range representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for the position. The pay offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors including (but not limited to) the experience and qualifications of the selected candidate including years since terminal degree, training, and field or discipline; departmental budget availability; internal comparators; and external market pay for comparable jobs.

Requirements

  • Board-certified or board-eligible in Developmental Behavioral Pediatrics or Neurodevelopmental Disabilities.
  • Specific training and expertise in the care of children with disabilities for Child Neurologists.

Responsibilities
