About The Position

POSITION SUMMARY The RN Attending Nurse will provide direct patient care, administers medications, educates, collaborates, and counsels patients and families. The Registered Nurse assesses physical, psychosocial, and learning needs of patients and families. The Attending RN will serve as the professional nurse by assessing, planning, directing, practicing and evaluating patient care in a designated group practice. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education: Associates' Degree in Nursing required. BSN preferred BSN required within four (4) years of hire. Experience: One (1) year of RN experience or two (2) years of LPN experience Basic Life Support (BLS) required. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: License/Certification/Registration: Currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse by state of employment or holds a multistate RN license through the interstate Nurse Licensure Compact. SUPERVISION RECEIVED SUPERVISION GIVEN None Responsibilities ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Serve as a professional nurse by assessing, planning, directing, practicing, and evaluating patient care in a designated group practice. Provide clinical assessment and triage of patient phone calls. Provide patient education as required. Collaborate with professional colleagues to coordinate care for patients as part of a multidisciplinary team as the patient moves across the continuum of care; define, implement, and evaluate the patient's plan of care. Communicate with the physician(s) and other health care professionals to facilitate health care planning for patients of the specialty service. Maintain appropriate communication concerning patient needs, outcomes, and deviations from expected outcomes. Assist leadership with evidence based practice and quality data collection to recommend/initiate improvements. Participate in interviewing candidates for vacant positions within the service line and provide input for hiring. Provide peer review feedback for peer evaluations. Precept, orient, and train new staff. In the absence of the Supervisor, assume supervisory responsibilities pertaining to the daily operations. NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Participate on assigned committees. Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements
