About The Position

OSF Saint Francis Medical Center’s Dental Residency Program is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Attending Dentist to join our esteemed team at the Medical Center’s hospital dental clinic in Peoria, IL. You will play a crucial role in supervising dental residents, reviewing treatment plans, and managing patient care. Our program is committed to providing exceptional learning opportunities for residents, and we are looking for a candidate who shares our passion for education and quality dental care. Job Specifics Supervise dental residents and provide guidance in their professional development, primarily in the hospital clinic setting. In collaboration with residents and hygienists, develop, review and approve patient treatment plans. Conduct thorough evaluations of residents' progress and provide constructive feedback. Participate in didactic/educational sessions to enhance residents' knowledge and skills. Proficiency in all areas of general dentistry, particularly (or especially) basic oral surgery and management of the medically complex patient. Comfortably treat patients in an operating room (OR) setting Participate in on-call duties alongside residents.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD)
  • Current State of Illinois Dental License issued by IDPR and State Controlled Substance license issued by IDPR and Federal Controlled Substance License issued by the DEA.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented.

Nice To Haves

  • CODA Accredited General Practice Residency (GPR) certificate OR Advance Education in General Dentistry or Certificate of Post-graduate Fellowship
  • Military service or hospital experience preferred.

Responsibilities
