Requirements

  • Required - High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Required - HEARTSAVER - American Heart Association
  • Ability to comprehend verbal instructions given in English.
  • Ability to read, write, understand, and effectively communicate in English with minimal mental application performing repetitive tasks and duties.
  • Excellent customer services skills required.
  • Ability to organize and complete tasks.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred - Neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient/customers

Responsibilities

  • Cleans and maintains operating rooms before and after surgical procedures.
  • Maintains cleaning solutions and cleaning equipment.
  • Transports pediatric, adolescent, adult & geriatric patients, both inpatients & outpatients, to and from surgical suites, Pre-op Holding, EPOH and CVICU areas.
  • Transports requested items, such as blood, x-rays, pharmacy items, SPD items, charts, records and equipment between departments and surgical units; transports requested supplies in a timely, accurate manner.
  • Participates in CIP, Quality Improvement and evaluation activities and implements measures to ensure that hospital, DNV and other quality standards are met.
  • Maintains principles of aseptic technique according to hospital policy and procedure and AORN standards.
  • Maintains and stores equipment in a clean/safe condition.
  • Stocks and maintains the proper par levels of various supplies such as blankets, brushes, etc., in the assigned surgical unit.
  • Recognizes and responds appropriately to environmental safety factors.
  • Performs other job functions.
