About The Position

The position involves providing quality patient care and education in accordance with policies and state regulations. The employee will complete skills checks, maintain a clean environment, and ensure that vehicles are in a mission-ready status. Responsibilities include accurate documentation of patient care, following safety guidelines, and assisting with public relations and marketing activities as needed. The role requires flexibility with vehicle assignments and adherence to driving policies.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or GED required.
  • Current applicable state EMT certification required.
  • SC EMT-B and National Registry Emergency Medical Technician certifications preferred at time of hire.
  • BCLS required.
  • Approved trauma certification required within 6 months of employment.
  • Current driver's license with no more than 6 points required.
  • Must have had driver's license for a minimum of 2 years.
  • Advocate Health approved driving course to be completed within the first week of hire.
  • One-year active field pre-hospital experience preferred.
  • Annual completion of safety briefings and annual survival training required.
  • Must have an operational smartphone for communication related to MedCenter air operations.

Responsibilities

  • Completes skills check in a timely manner with accuracy.
  • Maintains clean environment to include base and maintaining vehicles in a mission ready status.
  • Provides accurate and legible documentation of patient care with attention to detail.
  • Provides quality patient care and education in accordance with policies and state regulations.
  • Follows guidelines and procedures independently when Medical Control is not available.
  • Assists with other activities including public relations and marketing.
  • Follows safety guidelines and procedures; ensures seat belts are worn by crew and passengers.
  • Maintains flexibility with vehicle assignments.
  • Drives in accordance with Advocate Health policy and local/state regulations.
